These Pizza Sushi rolls offer a playful twist on a classic, making them a delightful and unexpected treat. They're easy to make, customizable to your favorite pizza combinations, and visually appealing – perfect for impressing your guests!

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup pizza sauce, divided
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese, divided
  • For Pepperoni Rolls:
    • 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni
  • For Three Meat Rolls:
    • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled Italian sausage
    • 1/4 cup cooked and crumbled bacon
    • 1/4 cup cooked and diced ham
  • For Supreme Rolls:
    • 1/4 cup sliced mushrooms
    • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper
    • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
    • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • For Veggie Rolls:
    • 1/4 cup chopped red bell pepper
    • 1/4 cup chopped yellow bell pepper
    • 1/4 cup chopped zucchini
    • 1/4 cup chopped red onion
  • Optional toppings: grated Parmesan cheese, dried oregano, red pepper flakes

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the tortillas: Lay out a flour tortilla. Spread 2 tablespoons of pizza sauce evenly over the tortilla, leaving a 1/2-inch border. Sprinkle 1/4 cup of mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  3. Add toppings: Choose your desired pizza toppings and spread them evenly over the cheese.
    • Pepperoni: Arrange pepperoni slices over the cheese.
    • Three Meat: Sprinkle Italian sausage, bacon, and ham over the cheese.
    • Supreme: Sprinkle mushrooms, green bell pepper, black olives, and red onion over the cheese.
    • Veggie: Sprinkle red bell pepper, yellow bell pepper, zucchini, and red onion over the cheese.
  4. Roll up: Tightly roll up the tortilla, starting from one edge and working your way to the other.
  5. Repeat: Repeat steps 2-4 with the remaining tortillas and toppings.
  6. Slice: Using a sharp, serrated knife, slice each rolled-up tortilla into 1-inch thick "sushi" rolls.
  7. Bake: Arrange the pizza sushi rolls on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with additional mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese (optional), dried oregano (optional), and red pepper flakes (optional).
  8. Bake: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the tortillas are lightly golden brown.
  9. Serve: Serve the Pizza Sushi warm, with extra pizza sauce for dipping, if desired.
